The ABC Lifesavers First Aid for Security Personnel Course has been developed to provide personnel working in the security industry with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to manage incidents involving casualties until the arrival of the Emergency Services.

This practical course is designed specifically for sports coaches, team managers, trainers, volunteers and club officials involved in community sport.

With hundreds of players, coaches, volunteers, officials and spectators attending sporting events each week, injuries and medical emergencies can occur with little warning. Whether it’s a fall, fracture, concussion, asthma episode, allergic reaction or sudden cardiac arrest, having trained coaches and volunteers can make a significant difference while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

The course focus is on practical skills that participants can apply immediately on the training field or during game day. The training is suitable for both new and experienced coaches and is delivered in an engaging online and face to face format.

Our training is interactive, hands on and focused on building confidence so that participants are prepared to act when it matters most. Providing coaches and volunteers with these essential skills not only improves player safety but also helps build confidence when responding to injuries and medical emergencies.

The ABC Lifesavers First Aid for Sports Coaches Course has been developed to provide persons working within the community sports environment with the confidence and practical skills to respond quickly and safely to common construction-site emergencies, provide initial care to injured workers, manage the sporting injuries and communicate emergency services.

Our First Aid for Sports Coaches course includes:

• CPR and AED training

• Sports first aid training

• Sports injury prevention and post injury management

• Recognition and initial management of common sporting injuries

• Basic concussion recognition and management, including return to play considerations

• Asthma and anaphylaxis recognition and management

• Basic spinal injury management

• Management of environmental injuries.
